Richmond Court is a purpose-built 46-bed residential care home located within the Willington Care Village, Crook, County Durham. All of the rooms have en-suite facilities to help residents live as independently as possible. 

The trained team at Richmond Court specialises in Alzheimer’s, learning disabilities and dementia-related care. Our care also covers:

• Challenging Behaviour
• Down Syndrome
• Epilepsy
• Head/Brain Injury
• Hearing Impairment
• Schizophrenia

We provide care on a long term basis, as well as short term respite care to allow families and loved ones to take a break from their caring roles.

We provide a variety of services to meet the health and personal care needs of our residents, so they are cared for in a dignified manner during their stay with us. Led by Registered Manager Julie Gray, RNLD, our talented team of experienced staff takes a person-centred approach, so residents feel comfortable and settled at their home away from home. 

Protecting the health and safety of our residents is at the heart of everything we do, which is why we have developed excellent ties with local GPs, nurses and commissioners for easy access to medical attention if required.

Our dedicated chef creates appetising, well-balanced meals for all of our residents, catering to individual preferences and dietary requirements to ensure they enjoy their meal times.

Richmond Court offers car parking, Wi-Fi, is pet-friendly and provides a wide range of other services, such as:

Local amenities near Richmond Court

Surrounded by local supermarkets and eateries, Richmond Court is less than a 5-minute drive / 20-minute walk from Jubilee Nature Area overlooking the River Wear. It is approximately a 15-minute drive to Durham where popular spots to visit include the Botanic Garden, Durham Cathedral and Durham Castle. For those looking to travel a little further afield, Newcastle is less than an hour’s drive away.

And for the sports fans, Willington Football Club and Cricket Club are within walking distance, which makes for a fun day out on a sunny day!

Transport links near Richmond Court

Richmond Court has good transport links with the No 46 bus from Durham and the No 108 and 109 from Bishop Auckland. Both bus services stop within a two-minute walk from the care home. 

The nursing home is also less than a 20-minute drive away from Durham railway station which operates a reliable train service.
