About Brancepeth Court
Brancepeth Court is a purpose-built 36-bed care home located within the Willington Care Village in Crook, County Durham, that provides residential and nursing care for older adults. All bedrooms are equipped with en-suite facilities to promote privacy and independence.
We provide short-term respite care to help families and loved ones take a break from their caring roles, along with a separate facility for younger adults with a physical disability. We also offer care for people from Durham, Crook and Willington to support those who are entering the final stages of their lives and need extra support

Registered Manager Sarah Rigby works alongside a strong team of experienced and trained staff, who care for their residents throughout the day and night ensuring individual needs are met with dignity and respect. Here, we promote individualised, person-centred care and encourage independence to create a place where residents feel settled and at home.

We have excellent working relationships with local professionals – including GPs, Macmillan nurses, commissioners and more – and have a strong reputation for providing good quality care to our residents.
Facilities at Brancepeth Court
We have our own dedicated chef and on-site kitchen at Brancepeth Court, allowing us to cater for individual needs and preferences including specific cultural and religious dietary requirements.
When it comes to facilities at Brancepeth Court, there is car parking available for family and friends visiting their loved ones – we also welcome well-behaved animals. We have a patio seating area with raised flower beds where residents can relax, socialise or watch wildlife.
There is Wi-Fi access throughout the care home for residents and visitors, and regular laundry services.
Activities at Brancepeth Court
To keep our residents busy and active, our designated activities coordinator has a full weekly activities programme that includes regular outings to local attractions, cafes, shops and garden centres, to name just a few. Those able to access the community independently can do so, others are accompanied by a staff member.
Other activities include arts and crafts, live entertainment, coffee mornings, lunch/tea for special occasions and hairdressing appointments for a pamper session.
Local amenities near Brancepeth Court
Brancepeth Court is ideally situated near to plenty of local amenities, with food shops and restaurants within a short walking distance. For sports fans, Willington football club with stands to watch the games is a 2-minute drive or 5-minute walk from the care home and Willington cricket club is a 13-minute walk/3-minute drive away.
The Spectrum leisure centre is a 7-minute walk or 2-minute drive where there are regular activities and events such as a popular Christmas market. The Willington Library is just a stone’s throw away at a 3-minute walk from Brancepeth Court, where residents can take part in a reading group, computer club or ‘knit and natter’ if they wish.
Willington Park is also just a 6-minute walk or 2-minute drive from the care home for when residents would like a bit of fresh air in beautiful surroundings.
Transport links near Brancepeth Court
Brancepeth Court has good transport links, with the 46 bus from Durham and the 108 and 109 from Bishop Auckland. Both bus services stop within two minutes’ walk from the care home.
Durham train station is less than a 20-minute drive from the care home, so it’s just a short taxi drive for visiting relatives or residents taking a day trip.
